This original flexible flyer still has its original features such as its smooth birch wood slats with powder-coated steel runners and a wooden & metal double foot or rope controller painted in red. The sledge was originally made in the USA by S.F. Allen & Co in Philadelphia, manufacturers of Planet Jr Farm Garden Tools and Tractors. It is an unmistakably authentic piece and is steeped in history. With its iconic look this superb sledge depicts a time gone by and would make an impressive addition to that collection.
Condition
Construction is tight and solid, appears to be in excellent full working condition with no significant damage. Cosmetically there is paint chipping from the wood and metal and some light rust on the metal. But the markings are in good condition. The rope has been removed but can be easily replaced. .This piece is in vintage condition with signs of previous use, knocks, scrapes and scratches with light surface paint fading.
Overall this period vintage sledge is in functional order and in fantastic in condition for it's age ready to add to both commercial display or home interiors.
