A vintage soapstone chop crowned with a carved mythical creature sat on top its pillow. Chinese guardian lions or Imperial guardian lions, known in Chinese as shí shī, literally means stone lion and, often called "Foo Dogs" in the Western world, are a common representation of the lion in imperial China. The sides are engraved with traditional Chinese scolding and to the bottom the chop has its marked print stamp in red. This amazing item sits in it's wooden calved inkwell and still has it's original case. A lovey collectors piece or simply for decoration.
