Hier haben wir die superikonische 1227 verstellbare Schreibtischlampe, den ultimativen Klassiker, entworfen von George Carwardine und hergestellt von Herbert Terry & Sons, Redditch, England zwischen den späten 1930er und 1960er Jahren; die Quintessenz der Schreibtischlampe und Bestseller-Ikone des britischen Designs. Diese Lampen haben eine neuartige Formel von Federn mit konstanter Spannung entwickelt, die es dem funktionalen Design der Lampen ermöglicht, das Licht leicht in jede Richtung zu schwenken und auszurichten, mit einer sanften Gleitbewegung, die mit der geringsten Berührung neu positioniert werden kann und dennoch stabil bleibt, sobald sie an Ort und Stelle ist. Oben auf dieser Lampe sitzt der verstellbare Schirm, der das Licht genau dort bündeln kann, wo es benötigt wird. Diese Lampen sind geschichtsträchtig, werden aber heute häufiger verwendet.
The early Model 1227 (1938 - 1968)
This lamp has a two tier base, with a steel cover.
The forks were mainly cast as a whole component with the Anglepoise.
'Made by Herbert Terry & Sons’ moulded into the fork.
The springs often had metal caps added so that the spring length could be adjusted changing the spring tension.
Early models have the steel linkage strips and spacers at the bottom.
The shade becomes wider without any air vents on the side but larger ones on the top of the shade. Earlier models had the shade rolled outwards at the bottom, whereas later models were often without this rolled edge.
Condition
This piece is in vintage condition with signs of previous use, knocks, scrapes and scratches with light surface paint loss and slight rusting to its springs which only enhances this lamps vintage appeal.
Overall this this iconic lamp is in full functional order and in fantastic condition ready to add to any commercial display or home interiors layout.
