Here we have this wonderful vintage, early victorian cast iron fire insert in its bear state, which features a large arched opening that is surrounded by decorative twist and floral detailing, retained its original front bars that holds scroll detailing on either side which give a fantastic solid appearance with excellent period charm. This piece has a registered kite mark and although it is now unreadable, we can date the fire to pre 1884, when the dating system changed an elegant victorian design which would be a perfectly placed in your period home.
Condition
This fire insert has some small marks, scratches and knocks. The back has surface rust, as expected. The top of the fire brick has a small crack. Some slight tarnish to the grill from use. Please see pictures for condition details.
