Here for your viewing we have this iconic 1001 Luxo desk lamp by Norwegian designer Jac Jacobson. In 1937, Jacobson developed the Luxo-L1 lamp and they are by far the most known spring held architect lamps of all time. Today these lamps are part of various exhibitions in museums around the world, as the lamp is being seen as an example for classic lamp design. The lamp we have here is a rare model in its original dark enamel black, slightly rough round the edges, with its original 1001 of Bromley sticker still in situ. It has all its original springs, tightening screws and all its mechanical adjustable arms are in full working order. All the above sits on a solid heavy duty circular base with felt to the bottom that helps protect the desk work surface. This heavy duty base (4kg+) was designed to allow the lamp to carry out its functional movement but also helps with its sleek industrial design; really well made.
