Nous avons ici la lampe de bureau réglable 1227 super emblématique, le classique ultime, conçue par George Carwardine et fabriquée par Herbert Terry & Sons, Redditch, Angleterre entre la fin des années 30 et les années 60 ; la lampe de bureau par excellence et l'icône la plus vendue du design britannique. Ces lampes ont été les pionnières d'une nouvelle formule de ressorts à tension constante qui permet à la conception fonctionnelle des lampes de pivoter et d'incliner facilement la lumière dans n'importe quelle direction, avec un mouvement de glissement fluide qui peut être repositionné au moindre contact tout en restant stable une fois en place. Au sommet de cette lampe se trouve son abat-jour réglable qui a la capacité de concentrer la lumière exactement là où elle est nécessaire. Ces lampes sont chargées d'histoire mais ne sont plus utilisées aujourd'hui.
The early Model 1227 (1938 - 1968)
This lamp has a two tier base, with a steel cover.
The forks were mainly cast as a whole component with the Anglepoise.
'Made by Herbert Terry & Sons’ moulded into the fork.
The springs often had metal caps added so that the spring length could be adjusted changing the spring tension.
Early models have the steel linkage strips and spacers at the bottom.
The shade becomes wider without any air vents on the side but larger ones on the top of the shade. Earlier models had the shade rolled outwards at the bottom, whereas later models were often without this rolled edge.
Condition
This piece is in vintage condition with signs of previous use, knocks, scrapes and scratches with light surface paint loss and slight rusting to its springs which only enhances this lamps vintage appeal.
Overall this this iconic lamp is in full functional order and in fantastic condition ready to add to any commercial display or home interiors layout.

Please be aware the lamp has not been PAT tested but is in good overall working condition. If necessary have a qualified technician look over it's workings before commercial use. It has its original wiring and 3-Amp fused three pin plug for UK standard 240v system.
