Zur Ansicht haben wir diese Sammlung von Vintage-Drucken von Richard Barrett Davis. Davis war ein 1782 in Watford geborener Tier- und Landschaftsmaler. Er studierte bei William Evans of Eton, William Beechey und an den Schulen der Royal Academy, wo er 1802 erstmals ausstellte. Später trat er 1829 der Society of British Artists bei. und wurde 1831 zum Tiermaler von Wilhelm IV. ernannt. Davis starb 1854. Diese Sammlung konzentriert sich dramatisch auf den ländlichen Lebensstil der Oberschicht, der stark auf der Wildjagd beruhte. Diese Drucke stellen diese Zeiten dar und zeigen den Sport in seiner Blütezeit. Die 1. Lithographie trägt den Titel „Grauhuhn schießen im August“. Der 2. heißt 'Rebhuhn-Shooting September'. Der 3. ist 'Fasanenschießen Oktober'. Der 4. trägt den Titel 'Snip Shooting November'. Die 5. trägt den Titel 'Woodcock Shooting November' und die letzte aus dieser Sammlung heißt 'Waterfowl Shooting January'. Diese sechs Drucke thematisieren sich während der Jahresmonate auf der jährlichen Jagd. Sechs weitere Animal-Shooting-Prints sind da draußen, um diese Kollektion zu ergänzen, also könnte dies ein guter Anfang sein, um die anderen sechs Prints zu finden, um diese vollständige Kollektion zu erstellen.
Condition
These prints are vintage etchings, aquatint and hand-coloured reproductions but are created with the same providence and value.
The prints are not a modern or digital reproduction using modern technology; they are not widely or infinitely available nor can any more be produced.
As such, these are an affordable alternative to the original lithographs for collecting and decorative purposes.
The prints come in their original frames and shows natural signs of ageing which add to their character. There's some staining to the original white inner paper frame borders.
