Here we have a vintage alabaster marble display dish. This dish shows its veins and marbling throughout and is very translucent when held up to light. A sleek, shallow elegant carved compote dish is set on a carved pedestal making it perfect as a centre piece. It was probably made in Italy, mid-century, most likely used to display a collection of alabaster fruit or sweets from the time.
