For your consideration we have a pair of desktop storage boxes, most likely from the Art Deco period. These superbly hand made wooden boxes have been crafted in a typical deco cylindrical shaped with a decorative inlaid pattern to the top centre of the lid which has a raised lip to the front edge with a hidden steel pin to the rear that helps with the smooth opening and closing of the lid. You will find to the interior of these boxes signs of ash burns that suggest they where used as cigarette storage holders from days gone by. These boxes are elegantly made with a contemporary style finished in a gloss lacquered which helps bring out the beautiful original patina to these elegant boxes. I'm sure these boxes will make a lovely addition to your collection or play a part in that desktop display space.
The lid is domed and the corners are rounded. The lid and base have no distortion so they close tightly together.
These piece is in impeccable cosmetic working condition with signs of previous use, knocks, scrapes and scratches are shown in images.
